Expanding access
to books and learning
opportunities for children
Scholarship Stewards was founded in 2026 in response to a quiet crisis in public education: many students attend school every day without consistent access to current books that reflect their experiences and support academic growth.
Although early literacy is widely recognized as foundational to academic success, many schools continue to rely on outdated or insufficient learning materials due to chronic funding constraints and competing priorities. These gaps disproportionately affect students in under-resourced communities and undermine long-term educational confidence and engagement.
We partner directly with public elementary schools to identify priority needs and deliver carefully curated reading resources aligned with instructional goals. Unlike one-time donation drives, our work is grounded in sustained relationships, transparent financial practices, and ongoing feedback from educators.
Supported by community-based fundraising and an advisory board of education, research, and operations professionals, we prioritize relationship depth, program quality, and long-term stewardship. Our model resists performative philanthropy in favor of consistent, locally grounded investment.
